MITT Welcomes MCC Transport's New Intra-Asian Service

MCC Transport vessel MV Frisia Alster at MITT

[Yangon, Myanmar - 10 May 2015] Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT) is pleased to announce the arrival of the MV Frisia Alster, MCC Transport's maiden service at the terminal. This new weekly service is deployed on the Intra-Asia 5 (IA5) loop with a port rotation of Shanghai-Ningbo-Yangon. It is MCC Transport's first China-Myanmar direct services to be deployed in light of the growing trade activities between China and the ASEAN region.

Commenting on the new service, Mr. Min KYI, General Manager of MITT said, "This service underlines the fact that MITT has now started to attract both shipping lines and shippers in terms of capability and location. We provide swift and efficient services and are strategically located in close proximity to industrial zones in the northern and eastern parts of Yangon City as well as the increasing number of factories being built in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ) just across from the terminal."

MITT has a total berth length of 1,000 metres, a depth alongside of 9 metres and a total yard area of 75 hectares. It is equipped with 2 quay cranes, 2 mobile harbor cranes and a fleet of 80 trucks. It also offers warehousing and CFS space.
